Here I am … whining about not making money. I know so many people look at my life and marvel that I have been so blessed. Married for almost 30 years to someone who has taken care of me and my children so well. I managed to complete my educational dream of a terminal degree. I live in a country different from the one I grew up in and am successfully learning (very slowly) the language needed to be dutifully acclimated. I am living a dream. But even so, I feel scared, lonely, and worried. I want to see my adult children more often. I want my adult children and grandchildren to be able to come visit me as well. However, to travel abroad costs a lot of money. I had finally, after living here 4 years, landed a job that I loved. I was able to save a little money, help with the debts I incurred, and travel to see my children and grandchildren. Suddenly, the contract was not renewed… the American company for whom I was working needed to cut costs and so they started with the externals. My team’s contract was not renewed. So, I told Todd that maybe I should start blogging again. I have some time, I have a pass for travel to see some of the places I have not yet seen here, and I could do this until the next job comes along. My goal is to educate (because I think that is one of the most important jobs anyone can take on) and to learn (another important goal). With that, I am headed to parts of Switzerland I know well and to newer areas with my camera and my devices to show others all the wonderful nature at which I marvel almost every day. I hope those reading the post will be inspired to travel, to teach others, and to continue to learn. We are better equipped for the tough times when we have tools in our pockets to remind us of where we have been and where we hope to go.
Maybe we will call it “Wo ist Dr. Frau Lipman”… or we will call it something else… My hope is that it will be an interesting journey for me and for whomever follows. I will start with some catching up and then hopefully by next week will be posting regularly. If anyone decides to follow and would like me to go somewhere I have not been but that interests you, please suggest some destinations. I will happily pack a lunch and my camera to show you the area.
