Todd and I keep a post on social media where we talk about our hikes, show some photos, and try to offer our friends and family members back home a little taste of our adventures. I hope it is not taken by others as a brag when we do this. It started out as just a way to keep some of our photos on a different cloud service, but after 5 1/2 years is it too much? No one says bad things to us, but we have noticed less traffic on our posts and I always think negative thoughts when anything veers away from the norm.

I guess it is not something for me to worry about when so much worse is happening in the world at the moment. Speaking of which… I know it does not feel safe for members of certain communities in this moment… but I want anyone who feels unsafe to remember that you are important to someone. If you don’t believe me then listen… you are important to me. I am the proud mother of 2 transgender kids. They have taught me to be aware, to be a listener (and not always an advice giver), and to be a carer. I am proud of the roles I have as a mother and ally of the community. Also… I am proud of you… all of you who go out every day and live your best life… all of the helpers and those in need of help who seek it … I am proud that everyone who lifts others up. We have a long way to go to ensure care and respect is given to all, but I have faith the world will get there.
