Todd and I made plans to visit Davos. I had never been, nor had he so I decided to plan the events of the day around the „Berghof Sanatorium“ which is the setting for Thomas Mann‘s The Magic Mountain. In its original language Der Zauberberg.
I am currently reading this book and Mann is an excellent author who describes the setting so well that when I got to the area I felt like I had been there before. Todd and I walked along one of the trails and part of the trail we wandered along is called „Thomas Mann Weg.“ I was not in the best shape for this walk, but because of the book and the „familiarity“ of the area, I was still able to wander and enjoy every part of the day.

Once we made our way back down to the Dorf, we had coffee and slowly walked around until we were back at the train for our trip home. That was not so great because we were on a crowded train with others who may have been in the forest for many days hiking (and not showering).., but, alas, this is the joy of a beautiful country which lures many out of their apartments and into the mountains to work up a sweat and enjoy die Natür.😁
I hope you enjoy the Fotos…
