I want to post more on this later, but I have to say this right away… if you have not been to see the Oklahoma City Memorial for the OKC bombing victims it is worth the trip.
I could not bring myself to walk in front of the chairs or around the reflection pool, but one day I will. I remember this happening, but only from afar. I watched the news coverage and the trial, but knew none of the victims or their family members/friends.
I left the memorial in tears. It is very respectfully designed and I am so happy I went to see this.
All I want to say for now is that we need to do and be better. Acts such as what shook that city in April 1995 need to end. We do not all have to agree on every issue, but we need to agree that all life is sacred, special, and deserving of respect. Those who choose not to respect others need to be taught that their disrespect needs to be kept to themselves. It is none of my business what you think of me and you are allowed your opinion, but no one should think that their disagreement with anyone gives them permission to cause intentional harm to others.
We are headed to Dodge City, Kansas. We will be late getting there, but the site is a small tent site that will serve its purpose for the night.
More to come…
