OK, folks… we are about to put this trip into high gear. Today is our last day in VA Beach and from here we begin a several week journey across the US and back (East Coast to West Coast) camping, hiking, a few hotel stays, and lots of singing and dancing. Our plan is to camp in several National Parks to see things I have not had the opportunity to experience in my 55 years on this planet. We have had a week of cold rain and strong winds at VA Beach. The weather was terrible for a beach week, but it was perfect to keep us focused on getting gear for hiking and camping for the rest of this sabbatical. We planned and shopped for two days. Tomorrow we head to our old stomping grounds of Raleigh, NC to meet up with dear friends and maybe take a few standing shots to kick this trip off. We will see you all soon via this blog.
